John of God - João de Deus - The Miracle Man of Brazil

   From Mark …

I have had a spiritual perspective on my life since I was young, although not within an institutional setting. I’ve been macrobiotic, practiced Japanese yoga, travelled to the desert, done sweat lodges, read the books, done the courses, danced under the full moon  etc… I have lots of experiences that confirm for me that the world we inhabit is one of consciousness first and materiality second.

I’ve felt that passionately for a long time now, and “known” it, in many senses.

However, going to Abadiania …

After experiencing what I experienced, I developed a clarity and certainty about my world view that changed everything.

… it’s very clear to me that I have an immortal soul, that I have been here before, that life on this planet is about so much more than they’d have us believe, that there are dimensions and entities co-occupying this space with us that are not bound by the rules of 4D time and space as we are …

Any description I come up with is just so much metaphor, struggling to reveal truths that transcend and overarch our perceptions, limited as they are largely by our physical senses and the exquisite but limited bodies we inhabit…

(later) …

In that week I saw so much, learned so much about myself and the world, and had an experience of spirit that left me, still very much myself, but fundamentally and deeply changed within… the visions continued after I left Brazil, although toned down. The things I saw continue to echo through my life to this day.

I know all this sounds a bit mad but believe me I am neither a lunatic nor a religious fanatic…I don’t belong to any cults. I work with computers, sometimes wear a suit, and also make films… I’m reasonably normal, save for a tendency to what I want rather than what is expected, a willingness to take crazy risks to make the films I am driven to make and a determination above all to lead a meaningful life…
